I am not an experienced chainsaw user, so take my opinion with that background.
Overall, I am happy with the TCS40EA18 saw. It starts well, runs well, and I was able to saw through thick and thin logs without much difficulty. I did have to readjust the chain a few times, but I think that was due to user error on my part.
There are three main cons, from my point of view. First, the saw gets VERY hot if you are using it for any amount of time. It gets so hot that I would consider it a fire hazard if you are using it in a hot/dry/windy environment.
This is especially true since use of the saw inherently produces a lot of tinder (i.e. sawdust/wood chips). Be sure not to set the saw down in a mass of wood chips after using it. Second, the saw sometimes seems to leak oil. I was pretty careful in trying to make sure I sealed the oil plug properly, but it still left some oil marks places I set it down. Third, the instructions are not written very well.
