Notable Amazon Review(s)
I took the CS-1600 on a test run in the forest on a road which often gets fallen trees blocking the road in the winter, and the road did not disappoint; the saw worked fine on the trees blocking my way.
The oil fill spout is too narrow and the oil fill cap threads are hard to get on correctly, as reviewed elsewhere, but they aren't impossible to work with, so it's just a poor aspect of the saw.
You should get a small funnel and be sure to wait for cold oil to go through the filter, so that can be a problem in the cold. Oil does leak out of the saw while in storage, so dumping oil out is recommended by manual, which I did, but there was some oil still in the saw so that continued to come out.
The EGO Power saw cut through trees and branches up to the diameter of the saw blade size with no problem except for when I bound up the saw. Then, it would not move at all, and I had to either prop up the trunk of the tree to free the saw or do something else. Luckily I was always able to prop up the tree whenever I made this mistake, and so stopped making this mistake. (All the trees I was clearing were laying down across the road, so I just used a smaller branch as leverage to lift the trunk enough to unbind my saw, then I left the trunk on that branch to avoid the binding problem again.) I cut trunks of the full length of the blade no problem. I only made about ten full diameter cuts before I stopped practicing because the road was clear enough to drive through, and the 7.5Ah battery I brought had no problem the whole time and energy to spare when I got home and used it on my lawn mower and blower, but keep in mind, that the saw is balanced properly for the 5.0Ah batteries, so use those instead unless you have a reason to use the 7.5Ah batteries. I was cold so I didn't bother grabbing the other 5.0Ah batteries I brought even though I had them available in case I needed them. I look forward to using it again.
