Notable Amazon Review(s)
I mainly got this because I already have the 60V String Trimmer and I wanted another battery and charger, but I was too cheap to buy them alone.
I figured I paid about $130 for the chain saw itself, given the battery is $189 and the fast charger $65. However, once I got and used the chainsaw, whoa, was I impressed! Knowing what I know now, I'd pay more for it than I did! It is totally awesome.
I have used the DEWALT 60v MAX twice now, about an hour each time. My cut limbs made a pile of brush about 15 feet wide and 7 feet tall each time and the battery showed 2 bars (out of 3) when done. I cut many limbs 6-8 inches in diameter and it cut all of them very fast.
The best thing I like about the saw is that since it is battery powered, I did not feel pressured to hurry and make my cuts like I do when I use my gas powered chain saw. I would put this saw down, examine the best way to cut the limbs, most about 10 feet off the ground (Russian Olive trees), then climb up the ladder and cut them.
I did not have to worry about getting burnt from the hot engine, nor have the loud noise in my ears while cutting, so I was able to concentrate on being safe and getting the job done. Last, because it is battery powered, there is a lot of torque and so the chain gets to full speed quickly.
So, overall, I'm very glad I got the DEWALT 60v MAX. It is sort of instant gratification, since if I have just one limb to cut, I can grab my chainsaw, do the cut, and done.
Very fast and efficient. I live on 12 acres, so I have a lot of scraggly trees that need major cutting, so I'm going to get a lot of good use out of this chainsaw that I mainly bought for the battery and charger! LOL.
